Adrian Gonzalez, the best player you've never heard of.

The last 2 seasons Adrian Gonzalez has hit over 30 home runs, driven in 100 runs and scored more than 100 times. He has been in the top 20 of nearly every important offensive statistical category all while playing at Petco park which is described league wide as one of the least hitter friendly parks. He also won a gold glove in 2008 and was elected to the 2008 national league all star team.
The reason you may not have heard of him is he is on a team that doesn't want to compete (Padres) in a market that isn't noticed (San Diego) and in a division that the rest of the league feels is a joke (NL West). He is doing everything he can to put the Padres on the map. He is currently leading the Majors in home runs and is 5th in the NL in RBI's. The team that he plays for is dead last in batting average 28th out of 30 in RBI's and 28th in runs scored. Just imagine the damage he could do if runners would get on base and he had some protection in the lineup.
