The reason the NL can't win an all star game.

The American league is coming off of a 13 year winning streak in the all star game. The past 4 games they have won by one run. It's no secret that the AL has the DH and that gives them an advantage because they are able to have great hitters that normally wouldn't play defense in their league (Edgar Martinez, Frank Thomas, David Ortiz).

The true separation has been in depth of quality all star pitching. When I say quality all star pitching that means shut down, the game is over, lights out fireballers. It's all anchored by Mariano Rivera who has pitched 8 all star innings and has never given up a run or walked anybody, on his way to an all star record 4 saves.

Rivera is backed up by the best closer in the game Joe Nathan and the 2nd most clutch closer in the game behind Rivera Johnathon Papelbon. Rivera made his first all star team in 1997 and the AL hasn't lost yet.
