San Francisco 49ers first round pick Michael Crabtree is still unsigned on the day the NFL season starts. Apparently his agent and the 49ers are still miles apart. Crabtree wants money from where he thought he should have been drafted and the 49ers want to pay him money from where he was drafted.

    Crabtree looks terrible in all of this. He looks greedy asking for more money than he deserves. Many veterans also believe high draft picks get to much money as it is and he is saying its still not enough.

    The 49ers look bad. They are offering fair market value for Crabtree but they still essentially wasted their first round pick until they get this guy signed. Crabtree was the number 10 pick in the draft and should be a cornerstone of the 49ers offense, instead he's an empty jersey and the Niners will have to count on Issac Bruce and Josh Morgan to carry the load.

    If Crabtree holds out all year and reenters the draft next year there is no certainty he will be drafted any higher, he will probably fall even lower losing millions of dollars he would have been guaranteed this year.

    If Crabtree doesn't play this year what is he gonna do with his time? Play in the CFL, sit at home and watch football. None of those things will help him get the money he thinks he deserves. Starting Sunday every week that goes by is money he will lose even if he decides to sign this year.

    Crabtree had mental issues and questions coming into the draft, which is why he dropped to the 49ers. He is only helping that image by refusing to play and demand money he hasn't earned. Crabtree is tremendously talented but this is turning into another tragic example of a player losing his head and the body following.
