The Michael Crabtree game one report card.

Michael Crabtree finally made his debut on Sunday against the Houston Texans. The 49ers lost but in a way he won. He entered the game in a cloud of uncertainty and shame. Crabtree decided to hold out for more money until week six of the NFL season. The last player to do this was Jamarcus Russell and he still hasn't recovered.

It initially looked like 49ers head coach Mike Singletary was going to make Crabtree earn his spot on the lineup. Crabtree earned his spot the past two weeks by picking up the playbook fast and showing his amazing god given gifts on the practice field. It's also not like the 49ers are loaded at the wide out position all he had to do was beat out Josh Morgan and fifth round draft pick last year that has dropped a few balls already this year.

Crabtree finished the game with five catches and 56 yards. He displayed his talent by making one of his catches on the sideline while keeping his feat in bounds and catching all of his passes with his hands not his body. He was lost on some formations needing the help from fellow wide receivers Issac Bruce and Josh Morgan on where exactly to line up.

There is no doubt Crabtree is talented and he will over time have to earn the respect from the rest of the league. He sure hasn't started out on a good note, but if one thing is for sure this league is forgiving. If Crabtree produces this whole ordeal will be quickly forgotten.

Game one grade: B-.
