Five things we learned about the 49ers during their week 10 win against the Bears.

The 49ers were able to bring their record to 4-5 Thursday night by beating the Bears 10-6. The game included five interceptions by Jay Cutler three of which arguably weren't his fault and the 49ers offense sputtering to 12 first downs and 216 total yards against a very ordinary Bears defense.

1. The 49ers pass offense is really bad. The most yards any 49er quarterback has thrown this year in a single game is 286 during week 9 against the Titans. That game Alex Smith threw the ball 45 times and was picked off three times. Week ten was the culmination of the 49ers passing ineptitude Alex Smith threw for just 118 yards, zero touchdowns and one interception.

2. Alex Smith is being too careful. The real problem is Smith seems hesitant to throw the ball, he's trying to see the route first then throw instead of anticipating were his receivers will be. This is leading to interceptions and sacks.

3. The 49ers have offensive weapons. The offensive attack sure isn't the fault of the 49ers skill players. Vernon Davis is currently having the second best season (Dallas Clark) of any tight end. Frank Gore has been the MVP of the 49ers the past four seasons and Michael Crabtree is demonstrating is ability to run routes get open and catch the ball. The 49ers offensive line is playing decent even without left tackle Joe Staley.

4. The 49ers defense is pretty good. Losing Clements for the year hurts but the 49ers have patched up their one weakness from last year in rushing the quarterback. Middle linebacker Patrick Willis is cementing himself as a top three linebacker in the league. He is currently leading the 49ers in tackles, assists, interceptions, forced fumbles and is second in sacks.

5. The 49ers defense makes great players look ordinary. Jay Culter threw five interceptions, Peyton Manning didn't throw a touchdown, Kurt Warner threw one touchdown and two interceptions, Andre Johnson only had two catches and the 49ers held Steven Jackson, Michael Turner and Adrian Peterson under 100 yards.
